Just a quick blog post to say that even though there was a reasonable amount of interest in a Security Bloggers Meet Up in April during the Infosec Europe event, there is not enough interest to support sponsorship, hiring of a venue and the other expenditures involved.

Hopefully see you at the next one. I will still most likely be at Infosec on the 27th, so perhaps see you there.

Guys and Gals,

mark the 27th April 2010 in your calendar, as this is when the next Security Bloggers Meet Up will be happening, near to the Infosecurity Europe Event at Earls Court.

I still need to confirm the date, and sort out sponsorship, but the event doesnt happen without the people.

So please sign up if your interested interest[@]securitybloggersmeetup.co.uk

My aim is the same as last year, a relaxed atmosphere to network, meet and catch up with other infosec bloggers, eat some food, drink some drink and have a great time.

I also plan on having a few lightening talk opportunities, as well as possibly a speed dating type setup where you can quiz some people from the sponsors for some content for your blog, and make some new friends.

Hope to see you there. You can also register your interest on LinkedIn.

If your a sponsor and you are interested in sponsoring, please drop me an email sponsorship[@]securitybloggersmeetup.co.uk

Infosecurity Europe will be kicking off again this year from the 27th – 29th April 2010 at Earls Court in London.

I am starting to look at putting a Security Bloggers Meet Up together to coincide with this event, I still need to define a definitive date, but it will most likely be the evening of the 28th April.
Its early days, but I am starting to look at locations and speak with sponsors to get something set up.

We had a good turnout last year which coincided with RSA, and I hope we can do the same and better this April. Once again depending on location and sponsorship spaces will be limited, and RSVP will be a requirement.

If you are interested, then please keep checking on this site for more information, but also to get your name on the invite list early please register your interest, by emailing interest[@]securitybloggersmeetup.co.uk

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

The aim of a security bloggers meet up, is for everyone to have a good time, meet new people, and come away from the event feeling it was time well spent.

So what do you think makes for a good event, even the obvious like free stuff and beer.

Thanks and welcome to the Security Bloggers Meet Up site.
In 2009 I was involved in organising a Security Bloggers Meet Up, that ran along side RSA Europe, and the event was a great success.

From this I have decided to set up this site, one to run similar Security Blogger events, but also to provide some listings of other Security Blogger events happening around the world.
